Why Ford Motability?

The Ford Motability scheme was set up in 1977 to help disabled people, their families and carers get mobile. Since then, we have supplied over half a million Motability vehicles.

We have an extensive range of vehicles to choose from, including Hybrid and electrified vehicles, alongside the latest technology and innovation. Our Motability scheme is available to both drivers and non-drivers, who we can offer a test ride in a vehicle of their choice.

Some models are available from £NIL Advance Payment. Premium Paint and Rear Parking Sensors are included as Free Options (where not standard) on all new Ford cars contracted through the Motability Scheme.

With dedicated Motability Specialists we will take care of everything for you, including completing all paperwork. If you are currently not comfortable visiting, you can contact your local W R Davies Ford Motability dealership and one of our dedicated specialists will discuss your options and what they can do to assist.

Every step of the way, we make sure you’re as comfortable and as sure as you can be when choosing the vehicle that’s right for you.

Ford Motability

For motorists with a disability, being able to take advantage of the government-backed Motability Scheme means being able to reclaim complete independence. As a supporter of the scheme, W R Davies Ford are pleased to provide eligible motorists with the guidance and advice they need to make a successful application and secure the vehicle of their choice.

To be eligible for the Motability Scheme, you should be in receipt of one of the following benefits:

  • Higher Rate Mobility Component of Disability Living Allowance (HRMC DLA)
  • Enhanced Rate of the Mobility Component of Personal Independence Payment (ERMC PIP)
  • War Pensioners’ Mobility Supplement (WPMS)
  • Armed Forces Independence Payment (AFIP)

In addition, you should have at least 12 months’ award remaining. The mobility allowance you receive can then be used to supplement the leasing of a brand new Ford car from the Ford range, complete with any necessary adaptations you require, full insurance, breakdown cover, annual road tax, and more.

You can discover more about taking advantage of the scheme by discussing your situation with the Motability Specialists at our Llandudno Junction, Llangefni, and Rhyl dealerships today.

Ask about Good Condition Bonus

If you return your car in good condition at the end of your lease, you could be eligible to receive our Good Condition Bonus. The amount you receive depends on the length of the agreement: it's currently £600 for a three-year lease and £900 for a five-year lease.

When you hand back your car at the end of the lease, your dealer will take a photo and brief description of the car's condition. We know that over the course of your lease your car may show signs of wear and tear including minor scratches, dents or damage caused by wheelchairs or other mobility aids. However, if your car shows no sign of serious damage, you could be eligible for the bonus. You may still be entitled even if you have made an insurance claim or have a car on a low mileage lease extension. Please be aware if you have ended your agreement early, you will not be eligible for the bonus.

Receiving the bonus

If you are in line to receive the bonus, there is no need to contact us - Motability will automatically send you a cheque within 28 days of the car being returned.

The Good Condition Bonus is a way of saying thank you for looking after your Motability car. When you return your car at the end of your lease, it is sold, either online through a network of dealers, or at an auction house. Handing back your car in good condition helps to achieve the best prices, keeping costs low for all our customers.
