W R Davies Ford supporting Team Paddison in cycling the length of the UK

W R Davies Ford is delighted to support Team Paddison, aka Andy Paddison, in his quest to handcycle from Land’s End to John O’Groats; 1,000 miles in 13 days.

W R Davies Ford will be supporting Andy by providing a support van for Team Paddison, so they’re by Andy’s side throughout his cycle challenge.

The Challenge

1,000 miles in 13 day - Andy will be travelling on average 80 miles a day – no minor feat, but if anyone is up for the challenge, we know it is Team Paddison!

Andy was born with a curved spine, one leg and shorter arms due to the effects of Thalidomide used in pregnancy in the 1960s. He has been pushing boundaries his entire life; adapting wherever needed and not letting limitations deter him from anything.

For the cycle he has adapted a handbike with an electric motor to assist during those testing moments on the way; steep climbs, headwinds and any other surprises that the UK roads may throw at Andy throughout his trip.

The Charities

Andy isn’t just doing this to prove you can do anything, or experience the scenic views from the bottom to the top of the UK. The sponsorship funds raised will support 3 cancer charities that are close to many people’s hearts; Macmillan Cancer Support, Prostate Cancer UK and Bloodwise.

So far Team Paddison has raised over £1,000 and this is just the beginning!
