Eligibility Do I Qualify for Motability? To join the Motability Scheme, you must receive a qualifying mobility allowance with at least 12 months remaining at the time of application.

Your mobility allowance is used to lease a brand-new car through the scheme. Payments are made directly to Motability every four weeks by your allowance provider, so there’s no need to manage them yourself.

This seamless process means you don’t have to worry about setting up payments or remembering due dates. Everything is handled automatically, making it easy to stay on the road with confidence.

HMRC DLA This allowance helps with the extra costs of getting around if you have a disability. If you receive the Higher Rate Mobility Component, you can apply to join the Motability Scheme.

ERMC PIP PIP replaces DLA for most people aged 16 to 64. To qualify for the Motability Scheme, you need to receive the Enhanced Rate of the mobility component.

WPMS This allowance is for veterans who have a disability caused by military service. WPMS helps cover extra mobility costs and qualifies you to join the Motability Scheme.

AFIP AFIP is for service personnel and veterans who have been seriously injured in service. It helps with extra living costs and includes a mobility component for Motability.
