Drive for your community: How 18 Test Drives Raised £540 for St. David's Hospice

On 7 and 8 August, our showroom at W R Davies Ford Llandudno Junction was full of new faces, familiar friends, and even the occasional friendly nudge from Dewi the mascot goat. Over the two days, our Drive for Your Community event brought together customers, families and the wider community - all in support of St David’s Hospice.
By the end of the weekend, 18 test drives had been taken across our Ford range, raising a fantastic £540 for the hospice.
Seeing so many people turn up not because they had to, but because they wanted to support a cause close to home, was genuinely heartwarming for our whole team.
Every one of those 18 test drives represent someone who took a little time out of their day to get behind the wheel and in doing so, helped fun care for local families at their most difficult moments. St. David's Hospice support over thousands people a year across Conwy, Gwynedd and Anglesey, offering car completely free of charge. Every pound raised that weekend goes directly toward that mission.
The event was also a chance to get hands-on with something new.
For a lot of people, it was their first time behind the wheel of an EV, and the response spoke for itself: many came back for a second look, clearly won over by the feel and performance of the range.
Our team was on hand throughout the weekend, guiding visitors through the full Ford range, including the Puma Gen-E and the all-electric Capri, and helping them see first-hand how an electric Ford could fit into everyday life here in North Wales.
It's exactly the kind of moment we love creating - where a fun day out for a good cause also opens the door to discovering a car that might just be a perfect fit.
To everyone who came along, booked a slot, or simply stopped by to say hello - Thank you! Your test drive made a real difference to families supported by St. David's Hospice.
